These are just some of my favorite short stories. I've written over a few dozen stories--some shorter and some longer-- but these seemed to stimulate me the most emotionally. In the end, that's what really counts in a good story: emotion.

  • Chase

After a long day of pain and labor, Rob and his friend Matteo relax at a pavilion under a moon-lit sky. Quickly their attention is stolen by a rustle of leaves, and they stand in aw to see... a symbol of beauty. "I want her," Rob says, and his chase begins.

    (MEDIUM) (LITERARY)

  • A Voice With Reason

Trevor has just made a big mistake.  He’s stepped inside a bank that’s about to get robbed by two anonymous men in ski masks, and all because a voice inside his head told him to.  He's about to find out that mistakes happen for a reason, and that the voice he hears isn't his own insanity talking.

    (MEDIUM) (HUMOROUS + SUSPENSEFUL)

  • The Problem With My Shoes

"I knew I was in trouble when my shoes started talking to me," the story begins as the narrator tries to decide whather he's insane or if life is just a meaningless script.

    (LONG) (HUMOROUS)

  • Small Pleasures

As Chris sits on a ledge of a mall parking lot, a security guard approaches. Instead of conflict, the worn man wants to talk, and as their conversation leads to philosophy, Chris shows the man that life holds all sort of pleasures.

    (SHORT) (LITERARY +DRAMATIC)

  • Midnight

As one day ends and a new one begins, every person has the choice to change who they are. This night, a man named Daren has just robbed a gas station on the side of the road. As he holds a gun against his hostage's head, he tries to figure out how he got to this point. More importantly, he has to figure out what he needs to do next.
