Coach purse...should I have the shoulder strap shortened?
I have a leather Coach purse that I love so much, but the shoulder strap is too long for my liking. I've had this purse for about 10 years but only wore it for a short amount of time, so it looks brand new...it's been 8 years since I last wore it because I don't like how long the shoulder strap is (the style has changed to much shorter straps). This purse would look great with a shorter strap.
Should I have the strap cut (in the center where it rests on the shoulder) and shortened by several inches or leave the purse alone? The strap is a really thick leather, so I'm not sure how it can be cut and then sewn back together. You can't cut the ends of the straps because that's where the holes are to adjust the length, and you can't just add more holes because it won't look right...trust me.
What would you do?
If you "LOVE" the purse and think taking it to a "Cobbler" or "Shoe Repair" shop for the repairs is worth it then do it. If you will use the purse then by all means do it!!! I have too many purses and if I "loved" a purse and it would stop me from spending a few more hundred bucks on another one I surely would!!! Good luck!! Coach are quality leather purses and you should have no problem getting it shortened.
