A Winning Combination
Telefónica O2 has had several partners in the sports industry throughout the years. Being a sponsor of the England rugby team, a mobile video service was launched back in 2003. The service gave clients access to video content which was related to the Rugby World Cup. In 2005, Telefónica O2 extended their sponsorship to the Rugby Football Union as well as the Premier Rugby Ltd. And the O2 Rugby Class.

The company has unveiled several new projects and services in the Mobile World Congress 2010 held in Barcelona, Spain.
The 3G Box project is a 3G pen drive USB modem which enables the user to recover content and data to be stored directly online. It claims to be the first to have an unlimited storage capacity by utilizing the cloud computing technology. This gives users the benefit of having secured content even if the device is accidentally misplaced or in the event that it gets stolen.
Another project shown in the 2010 Mobile World Congress is the Movistar Haiku Project. This aims to encourage their users to make use of their creativity and be able to share their own mobile micro-service creations to their contacts without any programming experience.
